Political Endorsements

The Right Honourable David Cameron MP (Prime Minister)

“It is heartening to hear how much you and the local community have already achieved since the sad loss of Richard, and are looking ahead to a National Heroes Day.  This is an excellent initiative and I note that the idea has already taken root and been a great success locally.  I fully endorse any project that encourages community participation and increases knowledge and support for our Service Personnel”.

Damian Hinds MP (East Hants)

"Heroes Day is fantastic concept to involve our nation's schools in honouring and understanding true heroes in the run up to Remembrance Day.  The successful trial by the schools piloting the idea during the summer, the enthusiasm that the children involved showed by the multitude of enquiries by schools across the country as word leaks out, leads me to believe it will be an ongoing success on an annual basis.  I am therefore delighted to offer my support to this initiative".

The Mayor of Havant, Councillor Ken Smith

“As the first citizen of Havant I want to support this incredibly worthwhile and imaginative event, which will identify and highlight people that have made a real difference in our community. My personal heroes are the crew and medics that serve for one of my chosen charities, the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance. The hard work and dedication of an Air Ambulance Crew saved our younger sons life after he was involved in a serious road accident. Councillors and officers will also be taking part in the fundraising and will be dressing up as their personal heroes for the day”.
